As Christians we know the truth, and realize it is our job to spread the gospel to all nations and demonstrate God's love for all his children by being his hands and feet on earth.
This image shows how basic the needs are for slum children. Shoes provide essential protection from the filthy streets. One small cut on a child's foot can easily get severely infected in these conditions and lead to major infections which can lead to death without proper medical care.
In the slums, medical care is a luxury. Street children, unable to care or provide for themselves, face the greatest threats against these harsh conditions. Compound the unsanitary conditions, contaminated water, and limited access to food and you can see just how dire the needs are in the slums.
